Project: Penrith Lakes Weir
Client: Ward Civil
Civil Sydney’s Contract Value: $800k
Project Description
Civil Sydney was contracted to install 180m of Steel and 2.5km of ‘Flat Panel’ Vinyl Sheet pile to form the main steps and wing walls to the Nepean River Flood Weir. The project is the largest vinyl sheet job ever undertaken in the Southern Hemisphere.
As driving of sheets had not been undertaken in such ground conditions (stiff clays) Civil Sydney had to develop specialised driving mandrels and implement predrilling to complete the installation without damaging the sheets.
Once onsite we were able to install up to 100 sheets or 60m of wall per day with one piling rig allowing for an on time and on budget completion of the project.
